Ricky Fertig, Chief Executive Officer, Johannesburg, South Africa

CAREER HISTORY
• Ricky has been an entrepreneur all his life and was a founder member of Colliers South Africa Holdings Limited.

EXPERIENCE
Ricky Fertig is one of the founding members of Quyn Holdings which acquired control of Colliers RMS (South Africa) in 1999. Quyn Holdings has recently changed it’s name to Colliers SA Holdings.

Ricky has been instrumental in the successful restructuring and refocusing of the group over the past five years and, in addition, to his position as CEO, is the driving force behind the property developments undertaken by the group.


Bernard Kaiser, Financial Director, Johannesburg, South Africa

EXPERIENCE
After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 1972, Bernard was with UAL Merchant Bank for 5 years, leaving to join Senbank in 1978, where he attained the status of Senior Manager. After a period of 5 years in Windhoek, where he was Group Financial Director for the Pupkewitz group of companies, he rejoined Senbank where he became General Manager – Corporate Finance. In 1993, Bernard joined Davis Borkum Hare (now Merril Lynch) as head of Corporate Finance and was later appointed a Director of the company. He left Davis Borkum Hare in 1997. He has been involved in numerous new listings, which have raised in excess of R5 billion as well as a large number of rights offers, which have raised a similar amount. In addition, Bernard has been involved in a number of mergers and acquisitions, investment banking and MBO transactions.

Bernard is a founding member of Colliers South Africa Holdings Limited (previously Quyn Holdings), which was listed on the JSE in January 1999 prior to it’s acquisition of the Colliers RMS Group in April 1999.


Wayne Alcock, Executive Director, Johannesburg, South Africa

EXPERIENCE
Wayne Alcock, has extensive experience in labour broking and marketing. He has been with the group since it’s listing and was employed in a managerial capacity with one of the group’s constituent members for ten years prior to that.

Wayne’s primary areas of focus are on the non-property operations of the group. In addition he is responsible for the residential division of Colliers and overseas group marketing.


Sanett Uys, Director Group Corporate Affairs, Cape Town, South Africa

EXPERIENCE
Sanett started her career with Rode and Associates where she headed up their Research Survey Department and became the editor of Rode’s Retail Report. She then moved to Broll Properties where she started and headed up their Research Department. As a group they produced market leading research projects for their respective clients.

She joined Colliers South Africa five years ago and has since been involved in the various divisions of the company. Research and Marketing however remains her main field of expertise with special focus on the Revitalization of South African Central Business Districts’, Shopping Centre redevelopments and strategic letting plans and the tracking and forecasting global and national property trends.

Sanett is also involved in a variety of charity organisations and is currently the chairwomen for the Women’s Property Network Western Cape.


William (Bill) Ward, CEO Property and Facilities Management, Johannesburg, South Africa

EXPERIENCE
Bill joined Colliers as the General Manager in the Property Management Division. The Portfolios he was primarily responsible for were industrial and commercial with a small retail component The portfolio of properties under his control was owned by various external and institutional owners.

In December 2000 Bill was appointed to the Board of Colliers RMS Gauteng and the Board of Colliers International Property and Facilities Management. In November 2006 he was appointed as CEO of Colliers Property and Facilities Management (Pty) Ltd.

Bill has extensive experience in the tenanting and management of commercial, industrial and retail properties as well as facilities management in these disciplines. His legal training and experience provide him with the skills to negotiate and interpret contracts, and have allowed him to hone his negotiating and interpersonal skills. In addition, he has a sound knowledge of labour and labour related issues and is experienced in disciplinary procedures.


Wayne Barnes, Regional Director, Property Management, Kwa Zulu Natal & Eastern Cape, South Africa

CAREER HISTORY
• 1998 - Colliers International. Appointed as Portfolio Manager of retail portfolio in KZN. Appointed Director of Retail in 1999. In 2001 appointed Director of Property Management responsible for KZN and Eastern Cape regions.
• 1995-1997 - Retail International, wholly owned subsidiary of Murray & Roberts Properties. Leasing consultant of shopping centre portfolio within KZN.
• 1989-1994 - Family owned businesses, including the management of a property portfolio.

EXPERIENCE
Wayne oversees the management of the retail shopping centres within the portfolio and has gained experience in enhancing the tenant mix of shopping centres in order to maximise returns, thus adding value to clients’ assets.

Client base includes Murray & Roberts Properties Services, Metropolitan Properties, private companies and syndications.

Wayne is also responsible for overseeing the management of the commercial and industrial portfolio.


MC Du Toit, Chief Executive Officer, Colliers Auctions (Pty) Ltd, Johannesburg, South Africa

EXPERIENCE
A fourth generation auctioneer with exceptional knowledge of his market place. MC has conducted high profile property auctions all over South Africa and has experience in all aspects of auctioneering, offering his clients a diverse range of services.

Legal Auctions - MC has successfully conducted various auctions for all the major banks in South Africa ranging from Liquidation Sales, Deceased Estates, Properties in Possession and Divorce settlements.

High Profile Auctions - over the years plenty of high profile clients’ properties have successfully been auctioned in the commercial, industrial, retail and residential markets.

MC is on the Executive Committee of the South African Institute of Auctioneers.

EXPERIENCE
Ian is a business strategist who acquired his skills in the banking industry. He turned around various branches in FNB from unviable to viable businesses. Since his employment with the Colliers Group, he has been successful in turning around business units within the Colliers Group and is currently the Operations Officer of Colliers Property and Facilities Management.

Ian has a CIB in banking and has a sound knowledge of financial and general business principles.


Barry Wessels, Managing Director, Property Development, Cape Town, South Africa

CAREER HISTORY
• 1998 – Joined Colliers International as Development Manager, appointed Director of Developments in 1998 and Regional Director (Kwa Zulu Natal) in 2002. Relocated to the Western Cape as Executive Director, responsible for property development in the region, and recently appointed Managing Director of Property Development for South Africa.

EXPERIENCE
Sourcing and evaluating property investment opportunities in the commercial, industrial and retail sectors, including the financing and asset management of the client’s property. Barry has led a number of highly successful projects, managing teams of consultants and contractors in delivering properties, as well as managing broking, leasing and property management teams.
